I didn't want to bother anyone here with this if I could do it myself because I know there are so many people needed help but I am asking for help now please to rid the Win Scan virus from my pc. I downloaded again but got the same error. When I tried to run the Rkill program after downloading via the internet in normal startup I received the error that the file was corrupted.
I am able to access the internet so far in normal start up. I also tried to follow another member's instructions for removing Win Scan but was unable to access the internet in safe mode with networking. I tried to set the desktop backtop back to Vista but when I go into the settings it is not there. Also, my Vista desktop background has disappeared and was black and now has turned yellow on the last restart. The program is still sitting on my desktop but I think it has been disabled somewhat as I am now not getting any more error boxes popping up and this may be due to the program SafeRunner that I found online and ran but the Win Scan icon is still sitting on my desktop and my laptop is very slow. I searched online to see if I could remove this myself with a program but I couldn't.

Then all kinds of error windows popped up warning me that my hard disk could not be found, memory usage was too high, and other such warnings. I started my Vista laptop this morning and the Win Scan security window popped open and started scanning.
